Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies ready to go in the oven

Oatmeal Chocolate Chip Cookies

Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies are one of those comfort foods—carbs, sugar, melted chocolate. They’re kind of healthy because they have oatmeal, right?

Get the smell of Home Sweet Home by letting the sweet smell of homemade cookies fill the air. This recipe contains cinnamon and cloves and will add that autumn smell to the air when baking.

Oatmeal chocolate chip cookies pair nicely with vanilla ice cream and a hot cup of black tea, like an English Breakfast tea.

Ingredients

1 cup of unsalted butter, softened
1 cup of cane sugar
1 cup of packed brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. sea salt
2 cups of oats
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
1/4 tsp. ground cloves

Preparation

Preheat the oven to 350ºF.

Cream the butter, cane sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt. Add to liquid. Stir in oats and chocolate chips.

Grease a baking sheet with butter. Drop in small golf ball-sized spoonfuls approximately 2 inches apart onto the baking sheet. Bake for approximately 10 minutes or until golden brown. Cool on wire racks.
